Step 1: Open PianoFlow
Go to pianoflow.net in any modern browser. PianoFlow works on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Step 2: Enable Audio
Click the Enable Audio button at the top of the piano. Browsers require a user gesture before they allow sound to play — this one click unlocks everything.
Step 3: Choose a Soundfont
Use the Soundfont dropdown to pick a piano sound. Each option loads a different set of high-quality samples. Try the Yamaha CFX Grand for a bright concert tone or the Steinway B-211 for a warmer studio sound.
Step 4: Play
You have several ways to play:
- Computer keyboard — the A through L keys and W through P keys map to piano notes. Hold Space for sustain.
- Mouse or touchscreen — click or tap the on-screen piano keys directly.
- MIDI keyboard — plug in any USB or Bluetooth MIDI controller and PianoFlow will detect it automatically. Full velocity and sustain pedal support.
Step 5: Invite Friends
Share the page URL with anyone you want to play with. They will join the same room and hear everything in real time. To create a private session:
- Open the room menu (click the dropdown arrow next to the room name).
- Type a room name and an optional password.
- Click Join to create the room.
- Share the room name (and password if set) with your friends.
Tips for the Best Experience
- Use headphones to avoid feedback if you are on voice chat.
- A wired connection or strong Wi-Fi reduces latency.
- Use a MIDI keyboard for full 88-key range and velocity sensitivity.
- Adjust the Volume and Release sliders to taste.
